Roblox account suspended?

Updated 21 October 2026

Why acting early matters: Roblox's help pages say EU users have 6 months to appeal an initial moderation action. Outside the EU the limit is 30 days. The longer an account is down, the more followers, customers and conversations move on. See what is at stake

A Roblox suspension is a ban for a set time. Your account is not gone. Save the moderation notice, note when the ban started, and decide whether to appeal: if the ban was wrong, appeal through the route the notice names. Outside the EU you have 30 days. If you live in the EU, you have six months, and Roblox must explain its decision.

How Roblox steps up

Roblox's help pages describe a ladder: a warning, then a timeout, then a suspension, and so on. They give a 20-minute timeout as an example. Roblox's terms for the EEA give another example: someone who posts hate speech may get a warning or a suspension of one day or longer, and lose the account if they do it again. For severe breaches Roblox may close an account straight away.

Roblox does not publish a fixed list of ban lengths. Go by what your own notice says, not by lists you see online.

What a suspension can affect

Wait or appeal?

If the ban was right, waiting it out is often the calm choice. Read the rule it names so it does not happen again. Each further breach can lead to a longer action.

If the ban was wrong, appeal:

  1. Use the route in the notice: Violations and Appeals (roblox.com/report-appeals) or the support form (roblox.com/support).
  2. Send it as the account owner. Roblox says only the owner may appeal, from a valid email for the account.
  3. Be specific. Name the chat, item or experience the notice refers to, say why it did not break the rule, and add context.
  4. Make it count. Roblox's help pages say each moderation is reviewed only once.

For parents and young players

A short suspension is a good moment to talk. Read the notice with your child, look up the rule together, and decide as a family whether an appeal is fair. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to help you. To buy our letters you must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's consent.

Your rights in the EU

If you live in the EU, the Digital Services Act applies to Roblox's decisions:

Outside the EU, Roblox's own appeal is the main route.

Don't make it worse

Don't play on a second account while suspended. Most platforms treat that as evading the ban, and it can turn a short ban into a closed account. Ignore anyone offering to "remove" a ban for Robux or money, and never share your password. For timings, see how long Roblox bans last.

What you stand to lose

A ban on Roblox takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.

  • Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
  • Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
  • The followers, subscribers or community you built
  • Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
  • Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account

On Roblox specifically

  • Your Robux. Roblox's EEA terms say that if your account is terminated for any reason, all Robux in it become invalid, unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Groups you own. Roblox's EEA terms say that if an owner's account is suspended or terminated, Roblox may name a new owner for the group.

Deadlines that are already running

  • Roblox's help pages say EU users have 6 months to appeal an initial moderation action. Outside the EU the limit is 30 days.
  • Complaint to Roblox: open for at least six months from the day Roblox told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
  • Copy of your data: free, and Roblox must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.

Questions people ask

Should I appeal a short Roblox ban or just wait?

That is your choice. If the ban was wrong, an appeal puts that on record, which can matter if a longer action follows later. Roblox reviews each moderation only once, so write the appeal carefully.

Can I lose Robux during a Roblox suspension?

Roblox's terms for the EEA allow it to revoke Robux when an account is suspended, where that is reasonable and proportionate, usually with advance notice. Note your balance before and after, with dates.

What happens to my Roblox group if I am suspended?

Roblox's terms for the EEA say that if a group owner's account is suspended or terminated, Roblox may name a new owner. If you run a group, tell your co-admins what is going on.

Why can I not join games after a Roblox timeout?

A timeout or suspension from Roblox blocks the whole account until it ends. If only one game refuses you, that is a ban by its creator, not by Roblox.
