Roblox creator or developer banned?
Updated 21 October 2026
If you make money on Roblox and your account was banned, secure the business side first: save the notice, screenshot your earnings, DevEx history, groups and experiences while you can, and start a dated loss log. Then appeal through the route in the notice. If you live in the EU, Roblox must give reasons when it suspends or ends monetisation, you can complain for free, and the P2B Regulation may give you extra rights.
What a ban can hit
For a developer, one action can stop several things at once:
- DevEx cash outs. Roblox's DevEx terms require full compliance with its rules at all times. Roblox may deny payment, or deny, adjust or reverse a cash out. Robux earned from content that was moderated for violations do not count as Earned Robux.
- Experiences. Roblox can remove a game, remove its monetisation, or make it unavailable, for example after a failed Maturity and Compliance Questionnaire.
- Groups. If the owner's account is suspended or closed, Roblox may name a new owner of the group.
- Creator Rewards and sales can stop while the account or game is down.
Do this today
- Screenshot everything. Earnings, Earned Robux, DevEx requests and their status, group funds, experience analytics. You may lose access later.
- Save the notice and any email about your games or DevEx.
- Start a loss log. One line per item, with dates: sales lost, a cash out denied or reversed, a game taken down, a commission you could not deliver. Use your own past figures as a reference, not guesses.
- Talk to your team. Co-developers and group admins should know before Roblox changes group ownership.
- Don't move work to a new account. Most platforms treat that as evading the ban, and it can put your remaining earnings at risk.
Your EU rights as a creator
If you live in the EU:
- DSA Art. 17: Roblox must give a clear and specific statement of reasons when it removes content, limits its visibility, suspends or ends monetisation, or suspends or closes an account. A removed game or stopped payout counts, not only a full ban.
- DSA Art. 20: a free complaint, open for at least six months, not decided by automated means alone. A wrong decision must be reversed without undue delay.
- DSA Art. 21: a certified out-of-court dispute body. If you win, Roblox pays the fees and your reasonable costs. Use the dispute body finder.
- P2B Regulation (EU) 2019/1150, Art. 4: business users of online intermediation services get a statement of reasons when restricted or suspended, and at least 30 days' notice before termination, with exceptions. Whether that covers your work on Roblox depends on the facts, so it may apply.
- GDPR Art. 15: a free copy of your data within one month, which can include your earnings records.
- Court stays open. We are not lawyers, and with real income at stake legal advice can be worth it.
Outside the EU, Roblox's appeal is the main route.
Business User or consumer?
Roblox's terms for the EEA, in force from 1 November 2026, use the term "Business User": someone acting within their trade, business, craft or profession. Business users are treated differently from consumers, for example on which law and courts apply and on arbitration. Read those sections before you take legal steps. Your own facts decide which one you are.
Young developers
DevEx is open from 13. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to help with the appeal and the loss log. To buy our letters you must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's consent.
Don't lose more
Be careful with anyone offering to "restore" DevEx access or recover a group for Robux or money, and never share your password or two-step codes. For timings, see how long Roblox bans last. If the appeal fails, read Roblox appeal denied.
What you stand to lose
A ban on Roblox takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.
- Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
- Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
- The followers, subscribers or community you built
- Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
- Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account
On Roblox specifically
- Your Robux. Roblox's EEA terms say that if your account is terminated for any reason, all Robux in it become invalid, unless the law requires otherwise.
- Groups you own. Roblox's EEA terms say that if an owner's account is suspended or terminated, Roblox may name a new owner for the group.
Deadlines that are already running
- Roblox's help pages say EU users have 6 months to appeal an initial moderation action. Outside the EU the limit is 30 days.
- Complaint to Roblox: open for at least six months from the day Roblox told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
- Copy of your data: free, and Roblox must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.
Questions people ask
Can Roblox refuse my DevEx cash out after a ban?
Roblox's DevEx terms let it deny payment to users it believes violated its terms, and deny, adjust or reverse a cash out. Robux earned from content that was moderated for violations do not count as Earned Robux. Record the exact amounts and dates.
Does a past moderation stop me from using DevEx?
Not necessarily. Roblox's DevEx help pages say past moderation does not necessarily make you ineligible, but serious violations can lead to refusal. If a request is rejected, Roblox says the Robux go back to your account.
Am I a Business User under Roblox's EEA terms?
The terms define a Business User as someone acting within their trade, business, craft or profession. Whether that covers you depends on your facts. It matters, because the terms treat business users differently from consumers on law and courts.
Does the P2B Regulation apply to Roblox developers?
It may. It protects business users of online intermediation services with a statement of reasons when restricted or suspended, and at least 30 days' notice before termination, with exceptions. Whether it covers your work on Roblox depends on the facts.
