Banned on Kick?

If Kick suspended or banned your channel, read the suspension email first: Kick's help pages say it explains why action was taken and which Community Guideline was breached. To appeal, Kick asks you to email [email protected] from the address linked to your account. If you live in the EU, the Digital Services Act (DSA) gives you a free complaint, clear reasons and the option of a dispute body.

Why acting early matters: Your EU complaint window is at least six months from the day Kick told you about the decision. The longer an account is down, the more followers, customers and conversations move on. See what is at stake

How Kick bans work

What Kick can do to your account

Kick's Community Guidelines describe a range of steps. Lighter ones are warnings, chat muting, revoked privileges, added restrictions and removed content. Heavier ones are suspensions and bans. Kick's help pages name three levels: a temporary suspension for a set period, an indefinite suspension with no end date, and a permanent ban that closes the account.

Not every block comes from Kick. A streamer or their moderators can ban you from their channel's chat. That only affects that channel, and Kick has a separate unban request route for it. The rights below are about Kick's own decisions.

What can happen on Kick
  • Disabled: you cannot log in, or your channel no longer shows.
  • Suspended: a temporary or indefinite suspension, explained in an email.
  • Restricted: muted in chat, lost privileges or features, or verification removed.
  • Appeal denied: Kick reviewed your appeal and kept its decision.
  • How long: how long suspensions and appeal reviews take, and the EU time limits.
  • Permanently banned: what a permanent ban means and what is still open to you.
  • Business account: streamers who lose subscriptions, Partner Program income or payouts.
  • Banned by mistake: hacked accounts, report waves, clips out of context and wrong age checks.
Your EU route against Kick's decisions

Kick is run by Kick Streaming Pty Ltd in Australia and has named a legal representative in the EU, in Malta. Kick says it has under 45 million monthly users in the EU, so it is not a Very Large Online Platform. The core DSA rules for platforms still apply to it. If you live in the EU:

  1. Statement of reasons (DSA Art. 17). Kick must tell you clearly what it decided, the facts, the rule, whether automated tools were used, and how to challenge it. This also covers suspending or ending monetisation.
  2. Internal complaint (DSA Art. 20). Free, for at least six months after the decision. Kick states no deadline of its own. A person must be involved, and a wrong decision must be reversed without undue delay.
  3. Out-of-court dispute body (DSA Art. 21). You can go to a certified body, even without the internal complaint first. No certified body names Kick yet, but general bodies may still take the case. Use the dispute body finder and ask the body first.
  4. Your data (GDPR Art. 15). A free copy of your personal data, answered within one month.
  5. Court. That right stays open.

Streamers who earn money on Kick may also have rights under the P2B Regulation as business users, depending on the facts.

Outside the EU

These EU rules do not cover Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the UK or anywhere else. Outside the EU, the email appeal to Kick is your main route.

Things to avoid
  • Don't open a new account or stream on a second channel. Kick says suspensions and bans apply to the person, and a new account can hurt any future appeal on your original one.
  • Don't send the same appeal again and again. Kick says repeat appeals on the same decision will not change the outcome.
  • Don't appeal on social media. Kick says it only processes appeals sent to its appeals address.
  • Never give your login to anyone who offers to "unban" you, and never pay for it.

What you stand to lose

A ban on Kick takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.

  • Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
  • Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
  • The followers, subscribers or community you built
  • Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
  • Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account

On Kick specifically

  • Kick's help pages say your followers, subscribers, content and earnings stay intact during a suspension. The page says nothing about permanent bans.
  • Unused KICKs. Kick's terms say unused KICKs and other digital content are forfeited to Kick when your account is terminated, unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Paid subscriptions. Kick's terms say that if Kick suspends or terminates your account, there is no refund for unused subscription time.
  • Partner Program fees. Kick's Partner terms say that if Kick suspends or bans you for content that breaks its rules, you are not paid for the time spent on that content. Kick may also end your Partner Program place at any time.
  • Earnings from KICKs. Kick's KICKs policy says Kick may reverse or withhold your earnings from KICKs and offset them against future payouts if it suspects fraud, chargebacks or a policy breach.
  • Time. Kick's help pages say an appeal does not pause your suspension.

Deadlines that are already running

  • Complaint to Kick: open for at least six months from the day Kick told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
  • Copy of your data: free, and Kick must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.

Questions people ask

Where do I appeal a Kick ban?

Kick's help pages say ban and suspension appeals go by email to [email protected], sent from the email address linked to your account. Kick says appeals sent through other channels, such as social media or chat, cannot be processed.

Is there a deadline to appeal on Kick?

Kick does not state one. If you live in the EU, the Digital Services Act gives you at least six months from the decision to use the internal complaint, so you are not in a rush, but evidence is easier to collect early.

Is there a dispute body for Kick?

No certified out-of-court dispute settlement body names Kick yet. General bodies may still accept a Kick case. Use the dispute body finder and ask the body before you file.

A streamer banned me from their chat. Can Kick undo it?

A chat ban set by a streamer or their moderators is the channel's decision, not Kick's. Kick has a separate way to request an unban from a channel's chat. The EU rights on this page are about Kick's own decisions.
