How long does a Roblox ban last?

Updated 21 October 2026

Why acting early matters: Roblox's help pages say EU users have 6 months to appeal an initial moderation action. Outside the EU the limit is 30 days. The longer an account is down, the more followers, customers and conversations move on. See what is at stake

A Roblox ban lasts as long as your moderation notice says. Roblox does not publish a fixed table of ban lengths, and it does not publish how long appeal reviews take. What is fixed are the deadlines: 30 days to appeal under Roblox's global rules, or six months if you live in the EU, and the legal time limits below. Note the date of the notice today.

What Roblox says about ban lengths

Roblox's help pages describe a ladder: a warning, then a timeout, then a suspension, and so on. They mention a 20-minute timeout as an example. Roblox's terms for the EEA give a suspension of one day or longer as an example, and say Roblox may close an account straight away for severe breaches.

Lists online with fixed day counts for each offence are guesses, not Roblox rules. If your notice has no clear end date, that is worth asking Roblox about.

A ban from one experience is different. Its creator sets the length. Roblox's help pages say that if such a ban lasts more than 14 days, a paid subscription to that experience is cancelled without a refund.

How long the appeal takes

Roblox gives no review time for moderation appeals. Plan for uncertainty:

If you live in the EU, the Digital Services Act requires Roblox to handle complaints in a timely, careful and non-arbitrary way, and a wrong decision must be reversed without undue delay.

The deadlines that matter

These are the real time limits:

  1. Appeal to Roblox: 30 days from the action under Roblox's global rules. If you live in the EU, Roblox gives you six months, and the DSA requires at least six months for a free complaint.
  2. Dispute body (DSA Art. 21): you can go at any time, even without appealing first. The body decides within 90 days of receiving your complete complaint.
  3. Your data (GDPR Art. 15): Roblox must answer within one month, or up to two more months for complex requests if it tells you why. If you use "Request Account Data" in Settings, Roblox's help pages say the download link expires after 7 days, so save the file at once.
  4. Court: the right stays open. Time limits for court depend on your country.

Use the deadline calculator to turn your notice date into exact dates. Outside the EU, the 30-day Roblox appeal is the main route.

While you wait

Write down what happened while you still remember: the date, the game, the chat or item the notice names, and who else was there. Parents, do this with your child. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to help you with the appeal. To buy our letters you must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's consent.

Don't speed it up the wrong way

No one can make Roblox review faster for a fee. Don't share your password with anyone offering help, and don't create a new account to play while you wait: most platforms treat that as evading the ban. See Roblox account suspended or Roblox appeal denied for the next step.

What you stand to lose

A ban on Roblox takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.

  • Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
  • Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
  • The followers, subscribers or community you built
  • Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
  • Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account

On Roblox specifically

  • Your Robux. Roblox's EEA terms say that if your account is terminated for any reason, all Robux in it become invalid, unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Groups you own. Roblox's EEA terms say that if an owner's account is suspended or terminated, Roblox may name a new owner for the group.

Deadlines that are already running

  • Roblox's help pages say EU users have 6 months to appeal an initial moderation action. Outside the EU the limit is 30 days.
  • Complaint to Roblox: open for at least six months from the day Roblox told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
  • Copy of your data: free, and Roblox must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.
