Banned on Pornhub by mistake?

Updated 21 October 2026

Why acting early matters: Pornhub's terms say the deadline for a complaint is six months after you are notified of the decision. The longer an account is down, the more followers, customers and conversations move on. See what is at stake

If you believe Pornhub banned you by mistake, your job is to show the mistake with evidence. Secure your email account, collect your verification and payout records, and write a short, factual complaint to [email protected] from the email linked to your account, within six months. If you live in the EU, the Digital Services Act says complaints must involve a person and a wrong decision must be reversed without undue delay.

Common mistakes and how to show them

Hacked account. Someone got into your account or your email and uploaded or changed things. Show it with security alerts, login notices, a password reset you did not ask for, or a changed payout method. Give the date you lost control and say what you did not do.

Document mix-ups. Creators verify identity with an ID and a third-party biometric check or a live video call. Every co-performer needs an ID and a signed release, and Pornhub says consent must be renewed every two years. A document that expired, was uploaded to the wrong video, or was misread can look like a breach. Show the correct document and the date it was provided.

Mismatched account details. The Terms treat false account information seriously. If a typo, a name change or an old address made your details look false, explain it and attach proof.

Mistaken identity. Your content or name may have been confused with someone else's, for example in a removal request. Show that the content is yours, with upload records and releases.

Automated flags. Pornhub reviews uploads by a person before they go live, but other checks may be automated. If you live in the EU, you can ask whether automated tools were used.

Build your evidence

  1. The notice with date and time.
  2. A short timeline: what happened in the days before the ban.
  3. Proof for your explanation: alerts, emails, documents, upload records.
  4. Your verification records and co-performer releases, with dates.
  5. Your payout statements, if earnings were held.

Keep it factual. Don't speculate about who reported you. Don't send content itself unless the reviewer needs it to identify a video.

Your EU rights

If you live in the EU:

Outside the EU, Pornhub's own complaint is the main route.

Stay safe

After a hack, scammers often pose as support or "recovery" experts. Never share your password or pay them. Don't open a new account while you wait: that can count as getting around the ban, even if the ban was a mistake. If you can't log in at all, see Pornhub account disabled. If you earn on the platform, see business account. The Pornhub overview has more, and the free ban checker shows your next step.

What you stand to lose

A ban on Pornhub takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.

  • Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
  • Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
  • The followers, subscribers or community you built
  • Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
  • Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account

On Pornhub specifically

  • Pornhub's terms say that once the terms end, you no longer have a right to access your account or your content.
  • Model Program earnings. Pornhub's terms list restricting, suspending or withholding earnings and payouts among their enforcement measures.

Deadlines that are already running

  • Pornhub's terms say the deadline for a complaint is six months after you are notified of the decision.
  • Complaint to Pornhub: open for at least six months from the day Pornhub told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
  • Copy of your data: free, and Pornhub must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.

Questions people ask

My Pornhub account was hacked and then banned. What do I do?

Secure your email account first, since Pornhub complaints must come from the address linked to your account. Then write to [email protected], explain when you lost control and what you did not do, and attach any security alerts you received.

Pornhub says my verification failed but my ID is valid. What now?

Ask for the exact reason in writing and check that your name and date of birth match across your documents and account. If the problem is on Pornhub's side, explain that in your complaint and offer the alternative check, such as a live video call.

Can someone get my Pornhub account banned by reporting it?

Reports start a review, but the decision is Pornhub's. If you live in the EU, a decision that turns out to be wrong must be reversed without undue delay, and it may not be based on automated means alone at the complaint stage.

Does my content get removed if a co-performer withdraws consent?

Pornhub requires ID and a signed release for every co-performer, renewed every two years. If a dispute with a co-performer led to the ban, gather your signed release and the dates, and explain the situation factually in your complaint.
