Banned on Kick by mistake?

Updated 21 October 2026

Why acting early matters: Your EU complaint window is at least six months from the day Kick told you about the decision. The longer an account is down, the more followers, customers and conversations move on. See what is at stake

If Kick banned you for something you did not do, your job is to show the mistake clearly. Collect proof first: login alerts if you were hacked, the full clip if a moment was taken out of context, signs of a coordinated report wave. Then send one appeal to [email protected] from your account email. If you live in the EU, Kick must review your complaint with a person involved and reverse a wrong decision without undue delay.

Common mistakes and what proves them

Your account was hacked. Someone took over the account and broke the rules. Kick's appeals article says to contact [email protected] straight away. For your appeal, collect password reset emails, new login alerts, changed email or payout details, and the dates you lost control.

A moment was taken out of context. A clip can look very different from the stream it came from. Send the full VOD timestamp and explain what was happening: a game scene, a quote you were criticising, a joke your chat understood. Kick says its moderation looks at context, intent and outcome. Use that in your favour.

A report wave. If a group mass reported you after a raid or a feud, save what proves it: Discord messages, posts asking people to report you, a sudden spike of hostile chat. Kick's transparency data says a human moderator is involved in every enforcement action, so a clear explanation can matter.

Your age was misread. Kick's terms bar anyone under 13 or under the age of digital consent in their country, and under 18s need a parent's consent. If Kick thinks you are younger than you are, say so and offer to confirm it with Kick directly.

A wrong copyright strike. Kick runs a DMCA strike system. If you had the rights to the music or clip, send a counter-notice to [email protected] with your licence or permission.

Mistaken identity. If Kick linked your account to someone else's ban, explain who you are and why the accounts are not connected.

Writing the appeal

Kick asks for your username, the account email, the date of the ban, the reason given, why it should be reviewed, and evidence. For a mistake, structure it like this:

  1. One sentence on what you believe went wrong.
  2. The evidence, in date order.
  3. What you are asking for: lift the ban, or at least review it with the evidence.

Send it once. Kick says multiple appeals on the same decision will not change the outcome.

Your EU rights

If you live in the EU, Kick must give a clear and specific statement of reasons (DSA Art. 17), including whether automated tools were used. A vague reason makes a mistake easier to argue. Your free internal complaint (DSA Art. 20) stays open for at least six months, and if it shows the decision was wrong, Kick must reverse it without undue delay.

If Kick keeps the ban, a certified out-of-court dispute body can look at the case (DSA Art. 21). None names Kick yet, but general bodies may still take it. Ask first, using the dispute body finder. A GDPR Art. 15 request gets you a free copy of your data within one month, which can show logins from places you have never been. Court stays open. Outside the EU, Kick's appeal is the main route.

Don't make it worse

Don't create a new account to prove your point. Kick says bans apply to the person, and a new account can hurt your appeal. Don't pay anyone who claims to know someone at Kick. If Kick has already said no, read Kick appeal denied. If you cannot log in at all, see Kick account disabled. The Kick overview has the full route.

What you stand to lose

A ban on Kick takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.

  • Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
  • Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
  • The followers, subscribers or community you built
  • Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
  • Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account

On Kick specifically

  • Kick's help pages say your followers, subscribers, content and earnings stay intact during a suspension. The page says nothing about permanent bans.
  • Unused KICKs. Kick's terms say unused KICKs and other digital content are forfeited to Kick when your account is terminated, unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Paid subscriptions. Kick's terms say that if Kick suspends or terminates your account, there is no refund for unused subscription time.
  • Partner Program fees. Kick's Partner terms say that if Kick suspends or bans you for content that breaks its rules, you are not paid for the time spent on that content. Kick may also end your Partner Program place at any time.
  • Earnings from KICKs. Kick's KICKs policy says Kick may reverse or withhold your earnings from KICKs and offset them against future payouts if it suspects fraud, chargebacks or a policy breach.
  • Time. Kick's help pages say an appeal does not pause your suspension.

Deadlines that are already running

  • Complaint to Kick: open for at least six months from the day Kick told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
  • Copy of your data: free, and Kick must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.

Questions people ask

My Kick account was hacked and then banned. What do I do?

Kick's appeals article says to contact its security team at [email protected] straight away. Then appeal the ban at [email protected] and explain that someone else used your account, with dates and any login alerts you received.

Can a raid or report wave get my Kick channel banned?

Reports can lead to a review. Kick's transparency data says no enforcement is taken without a human moderator involved. If you think a wave of false reports caused the ban, collect proof of the coordination and send it with your appeal.

Kick banned me for being under age, but I am not. What now?

Kick's terms bar anyone under 13 or under the age of digital consent in their country, and under 18s need a parent's consent. If Kick got your age wrong, say so in your appeal and offer to confirm it. Never send ID to anyone other than Kick.

I got a copyright strike for music I had the rights to. Can I fight it?

Yes. Kick runs a DMCA strike system and takes counter-notices at [email protected]. Send proof of your licence or permission.
