How long does a Kick suspension last?
Updated 21 October 2026
How long a Kick suspension lasts depends on its level. A temporary suspension runs for a set period that should be in your suspension email. An indefinite suspension has no end date until Kick changes it, and a permanent ban closes the account. Kick gives no fixed review time for appeals and says an appeal does not pause the suspension. If you live in the EU, real legal time limits apply.
The three levels on Kick
Kick's help pages name:
- Temporary suspension: the account is paused for a defined period.
- Indefinite suspension: the account is paused with no set end date.
- Permanent ban: the account is closed permanently.
Kick does not publish a table of lengths for each breach. Its guidelines say moderators may apply a more severe action based on your suspension history, so the same breach can lead to a longer suspension the second time. Your email is the only reliable source for your own case.
How long the appeal takes
Kick's appeals article says most appeals are reviewed within a reasonable timeframe, and that you will receive an email with the outcome. It gives no number, and we won't guess one.
Two points from Kick's own rules matter for timing:
- The appeal does not pause the suspension. A temporary one keeps running.
- Sending more appeals does not speed it up. Kick says multiple appeals on the same decision will not change the outcome.
If you have heard nothing for a while, one short follow-up email to [email protected] from your account email, with the date of your first appeal, is reasonable.
The time limits the law sets
These apply if you live in the EU:
- At least six months to complain (DSA Art. 20). Kick states no appeal deadline of its own. The law keeps the internal complaint open for at least six months after the decision.
- "Timely" handling (DSA Art. 20). The law gives no number of days, but Kick must handle complaints in a timely, diligent and non-arbitrary way. If the decision was wrong, Kick must reverse it without undue delay.
- 90 days at a dispute body (DSA Art. 21). A certified body decides within 90 days of receiving the complete complaint. You can go there without waiting for Kick's internal answer. No certified body names Kick yet, but general bodies may take the case. Ask first, using the dispute body finder.
- One month for your data (GDPR Art. 15). Kick must answer an access request within one month, or up to two more months for complex requests if it tells you why. Kick's privacy policy mentions 30 days or the maximum timeline in your jurisdiction.
The deadline calculator works out your own dates from the day of the decision.
Outside the EU, these legal limits do not apply, and Kick's email appeal is your main route.
Use the waiting time well
- Write down the date of the suspension email, your appeal, and any reply.
- Save VODs, clips and chat logs that show the context.
- If you stream for income, start a loss log now. See Kick for streamers who earn.
- Don't go live on another account. Kick treats that as ban evasion, and it can turn a temporary suspension into something longer.
If the appeal comes back negative, read Kick appeal denied. The Kick overview has the full route.
What you stand to lose
A ban on Kick takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.
- Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
- Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
- The followers, subscribers or community you built
- Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
- Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account
On Kick specifically
- Kick's help pages say your followers, subscribers, content and earnings stay intact during a suspension. The page says nothing about permanent bans.
- Unused KICKs. Kick's terms say unused KICKs and other digital content are forfeited to Kick when your account is terminated, unless the law requires otherwise.
- Paid subscriptions. Kick's terms say that if Kick suspends or terminates your account, there is no refund for unused subscription time.
- Partner Program fees. Kick's Partner terms say that if Kick suspends or bans you for content that breaks its rules, you are not paid for the time spent on that content. Kick may also end your Partner Program place at any time.
- Earnings from KICKs. Kick's KICKs policy says Kick may reverse or withhold your earnings from KICKs and offset them against future payouts if it suspects fraud, chargebacks or a policy breach.
- Time. Kick's help pages say an appeal does not pause your suspension.
Deadlines that are already running
- Complaint to Kick: open for at least six months from the day Kick told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
- Copy of your data: free, and Kick must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.
