How long does an OnlyFans review take?
Updated 21 October 2026
OnlyFans says it aims to review appeals within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. That is its own target, not a guarantee, and earnings can stay on hold for as long as its review lasts. What is fixed are the deadlines: you have six months from the decision to appeal, and if you live in the EU, a dispute body must decide within 90 days and a data request must be answered within one month.
The clocks that matter
- Your appeal window: six months. OnlyFans' Terms say you lose the right to dispute a decision if you don't do it within six months of being notified. The DSA also sets at least six months. Count from the date on the notice.
- OnlyFans' review: aimed at 24 to 48 hours. Its DSA transparency report gives this aim for appeals. Its Complaints Policy gives the same aim for complaints, such as about forfeited earnings.
- A dispute body: 90 days. Under DSA Art. 21, a certified body decides within 90 days of receiving your complete complaint.
- Your data: one month. Under GDPR Art. 15, with up to two more months for complex requests if OnlyFans tells you why.
- Claims in court. OnlyFans' Terms contain a one year time limit for claims, except where the law forbids it. If you think about court, get advice early.
Use the deadline calculator to turn these into dates.
Why it can take longer
Aims are not deadlines. A review may need more facts, or your appeal may be missing something. OnlyFans' Appeals Policy says only fully completed forms are considered. If your form had no content URL or no detailed reasons, it may not count at all. Fix that first.
For creators, the slow part is often the money. OnlyFans' Terms say it may hold your earnings and pause fan payments "for as long as is necessary to review the relevant facts". They name no end date. Every week of that is a cost you should record.
What to do while you wait
- Keep the confirmation. OnlyFans' appeal form confirms receipt with: "Thank you for contacting OnlyFans. We have received your appeal." Screenshot it with the date.
- Send one short reminder if a week passes without an answer. Quote your username and the date you appealed.
- Don't send the same appeal five times. One clear, complete appeal reads better than many short ones.
- Request your data at [email protected] if you need records. The in-app download, where you can still use it, says it can take up to 30 calendar days and the link expires after 72 hours.
- Keep a loss log if you earn on OnlyFans. See the business account page.
If the wait drags on
If you live in the EU, you don't have to wait for OnlyFans at all. Under DSA Art. 21 you can go to a certified dispute body, even without appealing first. No certified body names OnlyFans yet. Some take cases about any online platform, so ask before you file. The dispute body finder lists them.
Outside the EU, the appeal form is your main route, and OnlyFans' own timing is all you have.
Don't fill the wait with risks
Don't open a second account while you wait. That can count as getting around the decision. Don't pay anyone who promises a faster review. If the answer is a no, read OnlyFans appeal denied. If your account is only on hold, see OnlyFans account suspended. More on the OnlyFans overview and in the free ban checker.
What you stand to lose
A ban on OnlyFans takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.
- Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
- Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
- The followers, subscribers or community you built
- Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
- Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account
On OnlyFans specifically
- OnlyFans' Terms say you will not be able to access your content after your account is terminated.
- Your earnings. OnlyFans' Terms say it may withhold your creator earnings while it reviews a case, and may then treat them as forfeited.
- Your subscribers. OnlyFans' contract between fan and creator says a fan's access ends when the creator's account is suspended or terminated.
- Prepaid subscriptions. OnlyFans' Terms say that if it terminates a fan account for breaking the Terms, payments, including prepaid subscriptions, are not refunded.
- Lost income during an appeal. OnlyFans' Appeals Policy says it is not liable for lost earnings or subscribers, even if your appeal succeeds.
Deadlines that are already running
- OnlyFans' Terms say that if you do not dispute a decision within six months of being notified, you lose the right to dispute it. Appeals go through its Deactivation Appeal Form.
- Complaint to OnlyFans: open for at least six months from the day OnlyFans told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
- Copy of your data: free, and OnlyFans must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.
