Bumble account blocked or disabled?

Updated 21 October 2026

Why acting early matters: Bumble's terms and help pages say you can appeal a decision on your account within six months. The best way is the appeals form linked in the notice you got in the app. The longer an account is down, the more followers, customers and conversations move on. See what is at stake

If Bumble blocked your profile and you can't log in, save the notice and appeal through the form linked in it. Bumble says you can appeal within six months. If you can't reach the form, use Bumble's support request form instead. If you live in the EU, Bumble must explain its decision, and you can take it to a dispute body if the appeal fails.

First check what happened

Not every lost profile is a ban.

Read the notice carefully

Take a screenshot before you do anything else. Then look for:

If you live in the EU and the notice is vague, that is a point for your appeal. Under DSA Art. 17, Bumble must give the facts, the rule, whether automated tools were used, and how to challenge the decision.

How to appeal

  1. Use the form in the notice. Bumble's help pages say that is the best way.
  2. No form? Use another route. Bumble also names its online chat and its support request form on support.bumble.com. The chat may need a login, so the request form is often the only option when you are locked out.
  3. Say who you are. Give the phone number or email linked to the profile, and your profile name.
  4. Answer the accusation. If it was a report from a match, say what happened, calmly. If you have screenshots of the chat, mention them.
  5. Use your EU rights. Ask for a review that is not only automated (DSA Art. 20) and for a full statement of reasons if you didn't get one.

What you lose while blocked

Bumble's help pages say a blocked member's profile and chat history are removed from their matches. Your matches can't reach you, and you can't reach them. Bumble's terms say blocked members are not entitled to refunds, and unused virtual items are not paid out. If you paid for Premium or Boost, write down the amounts and dates. If you paid through Apple, refunds are handled by Apple.

Check your app store subscription. A renewal may keep running while you can't use the app.

Ask for your data

Under GDPR Art. 15 you can ask for a free copy of your personal data, answered within one month. Bumble's help pages point to the chat and the request "Request data". If you are locked out, write to Bumble's data protection officer at [email protected].

Don't make it worse

Don't create a new account or use a VPN. Bumble's guidelines say both count as getting around a ban. Never pay anyone who offers to "recover" your profile or asks for your login code. If you think the block was a mistake, read banned by mistake on Bumble. Everything else is on the Bumble overview.

What you stand to lose

A ban on Bumble takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.

  • Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
  • Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
  • The followers, subscribers or community you built
  • Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
  • Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account

On Bumble specifically

  • Bumble's privacy policy says it keeps information on blocking decisions for six years from the date the account was blocked. It may keep details of some blocked members for up to 15 years to stop them from joining again.
  • Your subscription. Bumble's terms say blocked members are not entitled to refunds.
  • Unused virtual items. Bumble's terms say you get no money or other compensation for unused virtual items when an account is closed, whether you closed it or Bumble did.
  • Your matches and chats. Bumble's help pages say that when Bumble blocks a member, that member's profile and chat history are removed from their matches.
  • Other apps. Bumble's terms say a ban can cover some or all Bumble Inc. apps, and its privacy policy says a block may also block your accounts on other apps such as Badoo.

Deadlines that are already running

  • Bumble's terms and help pages say you can appeal a decision on your account within six months. The best way is the appeals form linked in the notice you got in the app.
  • Complaint to Bumble: open for at least six months from the day Bumble told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
  • Copy of your data: free, and Bumble must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.

Questions people ask

Why was my Bumble account blocked without warning?

Bumble's terms let it close or suspend an account at its sole discretion, so a warning does not always come first. If you live in the EU, Bumble must still give you a clear statement of reasons. If the notice gives none, ask for it.

Can I get a refund for Bumble Premium after a ban?

Bumble's terms say blocked members are not entitled to refunds. If you paid through Apple, refunds are handled by Apple. If you think the block was wrong, list what you paid in your appeal.

I can't log in to reach the appeal form. What now?

Bumble's help pages say that if you can't reach the appeals form, you can still contact it through its support request form on support.bumble.com. Give your phone number or email linked to the profile and explain why you disagree.

Is my Badoo account blocked too?

It may be. Bumble's privacy policy says a block may also block your accounts on its other apps, such as Badoo. Check, and mention every affected app in your appeal.
