How long does a Pinterest appeal take?
Updated 21 October 2026
Pinterest does not publish a fixed time for reviewing suspensions, appeals or blocked websites, so be careful with anyone who quotes a number. What you can count on, if you live in the EU, are legal deadlines: at least six months to complain internally, 90 days for a certified dispute body to decide, and one month for Pinterest to answer a data request.
What affects the wait
- The kind of problem. A removed Pin, a blocked website and a full suspension go through different checks.
- How clear your appeal is. Missing details lead to slower replies or a quick no.
- Duplicate requests. Sending the same appeal several times can create separate tickets.
- Whether the cause is still there. A blocked website that still redirects visitors, or a pinning tool that is still connected, can keep the problem going.
How to wait well
- Write down the date of the suspension or block, and the date of your appeal.
- Keep the confirmation email.
- Fix the likely cause now, so the account or site is clean when someone looks at it.
- Follow up once, politely, after a reasonable wait. Quote your first message.
- Do not open a new account to keep pinning in the meantime.
If you rely on Pinterest for traffic, use the waiting time to tell your audience through your newsletter or other channels where to find you.
Legal deadlines in the EU
If you live in the EU, these come from the law, not from Pinterest's policies:
- Internal complaint window: at least six months from the day you were told about the decision. The complaint must be handled in a timely, diligent and non-arbitrary way, and not by automated means alone.
- Reversal: if the complaint shows the decision was wrong, Pinterest must reverse it without undue delay.
- Dispute body: a certified body must decide within 90 days of receiving your complaint, or up to 90 days longer in very complex cases. For Pinterest, Appeals Centre Europe, User Rights and Platform Control list the platform. You do not need to wait for the internal complaint to finish first.
- Your data: under the GDPR, Pinterest must answer a request for a copy of your personal data within one month, extendable by two more months for complex requests if it explains why.
- P2B notice: if you are a business user and the P2B Regulation applies, you may be entitled to at least 30 days' notice before termination, with exceptions.
The deadline calculator works these dates out for you.
Outside the EU, these timelines do not apply in the same way, and Pinterest's own process sets the pace.
If the answer is no
A rejection is not the end if you live in the EU. Read Pinterest appeal denied. If your account is still active but links or Pins are limited, see Pinterest restricted.

What you stand to lose
A ban on Pinterest takes more than a profile. Think about what is on the account before you decide what to do.
- Years of photos, videos and posts you may not have saved anywhere else
- Messages and contacts, sometimes the only way you reach certain people
- The followers, subscribers or community you built
- Income: sales, sponsorships, payouts and the customers who find you there
- Other apps and sites where you sign in with this account
On Pinterest specifically
- Pinterest's terms say that after an account is terminated, Pinterest may keep your content for a reasonable time for backup, archive or audit purposes.
- Coming back. Pinterest's terms say that if your account was suspended, you can't return to Pinterest unless Pinterest agreed otherwise.
Deadlines that are already running
- Pinterest's help pages say you can appeal a decision on your account within six months, in its Reports and Violations Center.
- Complaint to Pinterest: open for at least six months from the day Pinterest told you about the decision (DSA Art. 20).
- Copy of your data: free, and Pinterest must answer within one month of your request (GDPR Art. 15). It is worth asking now.
Questions people ask
How long does Pinterest take to review a suspended account?
Pinterest does not publish a fixed review time for appeals. It depends on the case and the volume of appeals. Keep the confirmation and follow up once after a reasonable wait.
How long does a blocked website stay blocked on Pinterest?
There is no set period. A block usually stays until Pinterest reviews the site again, which is why fixing the cause and asking for a review matters more than waiting.
How long do I have to complain about a Pinterest decision?
If you live in the EU, you can use Pinterest's internal complaint system for at least six months from the day you were told about the decision. You can also go to a certified dispute body, with or without that complaint first.
